Rules and Information:

1. The Batesville Kiwanis Club and Independence County Fair Association will sponsor a Youth Talent Contest, offering trophies to first place winners in each category.
2. Age limits are from 10 to 20, inclusive. Contestants must be a legal resident or attending school in Independence County and cannot be, or at any time have been, married, pregnant, or have had children.
3. No one contestant will be permitted to enter in more than one class except with groups of five or more.
4. Instrumentalists should bring their own instruments. No instruments, including a piano will be provided. If an accompanist is required, you must make your own arrangements.
5. All talent competition numbers must not be more than 3 minutes in length. Dress is optional and contestants are free to choose what they desire to wear while performing. If music is needed you may use CDs only. Parent or guardian must assist sound technician.
6. MUSIC THAT IS NEEDED MUST BE A CD ONLY. NO EXCEPTIONS!
7. Contest will be held Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. at the Entertainment Building on the Independence County Fairgrounds.
8. Contestants must pre-register. Applications may be picked up at the radio stations, Batesville Daily Guard, and Chamber of Commerce. Deadline for registration is July 10. All entries received after July 10 will be returned to sender.
9. Categories are:

   Vocal Solo	Dance Solo	Instrumental Solo
   Vocal Group	Dance Group	Variety

10. The winning entry in each category will qualify to compete in the State Youth Talent Contest, held during the Arkansas State Fair.
11. Winners are responsible for correspondence with Arkansas State Fair.
12. The winning entry in the categories of Vocal Solo, Instrumental Solo, Dance Solo, and Variety will receive $25.00 Prize Money from the Fair Association.
13. The winning entry in the categories of Vocal Group and Dance Group will receive $50.00 Prize Money from the Fair Association.
14. Contestants in the Arkansas State Fair Queen Pageant may no longer be contestants in the Arkansas State Fair Youth Talent Contest in the same year, and vice versa.
15. CONTESTANTS THAT HAVE RECEIVED ANY TYPE SALARY FOR THEIR PERFORMANCE IS QUALIFIED AS A PAID PERFORMER. PAID PERFORMERS OF THE ARTS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE COUNTY YOUTH TALENT CONTEST, NOR THE STATE FAIR YOUTH TALENT CONTEST. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS!

1. A KIDS TALENT CONTEST is sponsored by the Independence County Fair Board for Youth, ages 9 years and under.
2. Contestants must be a resident of Independence County.
3. The winning entry in the categories of Vocal Solo, Instrumental Solo, Dance Solo, and Variety will receive $5.00 Prize Money from the Fair Association.
4. The winning entry in the categories of Vocal Group and Dance Group will receive $10.00 Prize Money from the Fair Association.
5. WINNERS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE IN THE STATE YOUTH TALENT CONTEST.
6. No accompanist or instrument, including piano, will be provided. All contestants should make their own arrangements for these.

8. Contestants are free to choose what they wear while performing.
9. A registration form is provided below, or contestants may register in the Fairgrounds Office after Tuesday, July 17, and before Friday, July 20 at 4 p.m.
